The names Zinedine Zidane and Gennaro Gattuso are candidates for the new Juventus coach. According to the Tuttosport report.
Currently, Juventus is handled by Andrea Pirlo. But the former AC Milan playmaker position seems to be on the line as it is likely to be sacked at the end of this season without taking into account the team’s position in Serie A.
The Bianconeri, nicknamed Juventus, have failed to defend the Serie A title because Inter Milan has sealed it.
They also have not been able to secure their position in the Champions League zone because they are still prone to be thrown out of the top four.
The Big Lady occupies third place in the standings with a collection of 69 points from 34 matches that have been played.
Similar points were also won by Atalanta in second and AC Milan in third.
Well, these three teams have the potential to be overtaken by their two rivals in the Europa League zone, Napoli and Lazio.
Napoli occupies the fifth position with 67 points. Meanwhile, Lazio is sixth with a collection of 64 points.
This situation made Pirlo in a dizzy position. According to Tuttosport, Zidane or Gattuso is the strongest candidate to replace the former Juventus playmaker at the end of the season.
Zidane has long been the target of Andrea Agnelli, who wants to sign him in 2019. Unfortunately, the plan did not materialize because the French coach agreed to return to work with Real Madrid.
However, Zidane’s large salary could be an obstacle to his return to Turin. Currently, the former Juventus playmaker receives 12 million euros (around Rp. 170.7 billion) per year.
However, the Juventus camp hopes that Zidane will be willing to cut his salary following the Covid-19 pandemic which affects all sectors of life.
If they fail to get Zidane, Juventus can divert their target to Gattuso, whose price is more affordable. Gattuso is expected to leave Napoli at the end of this season.
Moreover, Gattuso’s agent, Jorge Mendes, has a good relationship with Juventus officials. Thus, the details of the agreement will be reached more quickly.
