Manchester United announced the release of 8 players in the transfer market this summer. Anyone?
On its official website, MU announced that it had released eight players at the end of the 2020/2021 season. The players consist of teams of various age levels.
“This season, player contracts will expire at all levels at Manchester United, as the squad begins to form before the 2021/22 season,” read a statement on MU’s official website
Only two senior team players have been officially released. They are goalkeepers Sergio Romero and Joel Pereira.
The rest are young Manchester United players.
Meanwhile, Manchester United announced that they are also in negotiations with two of their senior team players. Goalkeeper Lee Grant and midfielder Juan Mata are in discussions with the club.
In the 2020/2021 season, the Manchester United senior team ended their work less sweetly. Paul Pogba et al failed to win the trophy.
In the Premier League, Manchester United only finished runners-up Manchester City. Then in the Champions League, they stopped in the group stage.
MU then dropped into the Europa League and could advance to the final. However, the Red Devils lost on penalties to Villarreal, so they had to settle for just being runners-up.
That failure makes MU still fast for the title with manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. This makes MU still need some additional ammunition to compete next season.
So far, Manchester United is being linked with several names. Among them are Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund , Harry Kane ( Tottenham Hotspur ), Raphael Varane ( Real Madrid ), and Kieran Trippier ( Atletico Madrid ).
Wenger says Bruno Fernandes dimmed in the Europa League final because…
Bruno Fernandes failed to inspire Manchester United to lose in the Europa League final. Top manager Arsene Wenger believes Fernandes is exhausted.
Throughout 2020/2021 Fernandes made the most appearances among his teammates with 58 matches with 28 goals and 17 assists
However, Fernandes dimmed in the last game as well as the most important for Manchester United. Facing Villarreal in Gdansk in the Europa League final, MU lost on penalties 10-11 after a 1-1 draw in extra time.
The spotlight turned to Bruno Fernandes after the game. The reason, Fernandes’s difficulty after only making two kicks (off-target) and did not make a key pass.
“I feel that he was tired, and he lost his shine. And sometimes you can see it too, I felt he was more nervous in that game,” Wenger told BeIN Sports.
“So it’s also a sign of fatigue. Your best level is composure, concentration, and control. And in the last four or five games, I think he was a little weak in those things. So I hope he can recover so he can be efficient for Portugal.
Fernandes cs will face the first match against Hungary in Group F on 15 June 2021.
Dear MU, Solskjaer Butuh Banget Pemain Baru Nih!
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer insists he will not sit back and be satisfied with his current team. He wants Manchester United to be much more competitive.
Manchester United finished second in the Premier League for the 2020/2021 season. The result was an increase from the previous season when the ‘Red Devils’ finished the season in third place.
But United are also still chasing their first trophy under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. Last season they reached the final of the Europa League but lost to Villarreal.
Progress is visible, but Ole Gunnar Solskjaer says United needs a catalyst to accelerate the team’s development. Because the difference with Manchester City who won the Premier League is too wide.
“We are the second-best team (in the Premier League), but too far away to threaten the title. We have to strengthen ourselves. Of course, something will happen in the transfer market,” he told TV2 quoted by Metro.
“The world is very different than it was 15 or 16 months ago, but we have to do some maneuvers in the transfer market and also with the team. It’s never possible to sit still.”
“You are constantly looking for reinforcements.
“You have to consider everything and reflect. I will never sit back and think ‘this team is what I wanted it to be’ because you always look to the other players, or other teams do what you want.”
