Paul Pogba has a harsh reality regarding his statistics at Manchester United . Pogba wants to be backed up if MU looks good without him. Really, here?
The French football star underwent a fluctuating 2020/2021 season. Pogba was hit by the corona virus and plagued by a number of injuries so that he only made 37 appearances in all competitions for United.
However, after the turn of the year, Pogba’s performance was quite okay. A total of four goals and four assists were recorded by Pogba, which helped MU perched in the top two of the Premier League and one foot in the Europa League final.
However, Pogba’s statistics are not very good overall. United earned an average of 1.9 points per game when he started, compared to 2.2 points per game when he was sidelined.
“So I’ll just be put on the bench!” joked Pogba reported by TeamTalk. “I haven’t seen these statistics. If the team does better without me, I will fully understand that the coach will put me on the bench.”
“This is a challenge for me. I hope it will be the other way around. I hope the team will win more times with me than without me.”
So far, it is undeniable that Pogba has often been the target of criticism when Man United have had less successful results. In the midst of his contract which expires in the summer of next year, Pogba’s future is again being discussed.
Pogba’s agent, Mino Raiola, again sparked transfer rumors. He said the former Juventus player was still dreaming of a move to Real Madrid.
“And I will not play with you, for Pogba, playing in Madrid is always a very attractive option because of Zidane too. He was Pogba’s idol as a boy,” said Raiola.
