Sampdoria vs Roma: Down, Il Lupi Cannot Finish in the Top 4

AS Roma fell 0-2 at Sampdoria headquarters . This defeat has made the Wolves of the Capital City certainly fail to finish in the top four of the Italian League this season.
AS Roma travels to Luigi Ferraris to face Sampdoria in Week 34 of the Italian League, Monday (3/5/2021) early morning Western Indonesian Time. Il Lupi is chasing victory in order to keep his hopes of finishing in the top four.

However, the hosts gave fierce resistance to Rome. Sampdoria was able to excel in the final minutes of the first half

Roma have the momentum to get up in the 71st minute. The capital wolf got a penalty after Andrien Silva’s handball while trying to block Gianluca Mancini’s pass.

However, Edin Dzeko, who became the executor, failed to carry out his duties properly. His flat shot towards the left of Sampdoria’s goal was brilliantly pushed over by Emil Audero.

Sampdoria were able to maintain their 2-0 lead until the match was complete. This defeat has made Roma fail to finish in the top four this season.

Paulo Fonseca’s men are currently ranked 7th with 55 points. With four games remaining, they will not be able to surpass AC Milan’s 69 points in fourth place. The reason is, Rome’s maximum points are 67.

The only chance for Roma to compete in the Champions League this season is through the Europa League. However, that seems difficult too. This is because in the first leg of the semifinals, they were slaughtered by Manchester United at Old Traffford 2-6.

As for Sampdoria , they are currently perched at number 9. Claudio Ranieri’s men collected 45 points
