Rumors of Zinedine Zidane resigning from Real Madrid are again widely blown. Madrid midfielder Toni Kroos also commented. He did not believe the rumors.
The French coach has reportedly decided to leave Madrid. Following the failure of Los Blancos to win a single trophy throughout 2020/2021, for the first time in 11 seasons.
The decision was made by Zidane on Wednesday (26/5) morning Madrid time. The 48-year-old coach ended his partnership with Real Madrid a year earlier than the contract which expires in 2022.
Zinedine Zidane is said to have said goodbye to Real Madrid’s coaching staff and players. However, the club has so far made no official announcement about Zidane’s future.
Kroos said that he would surrender if his coach decided to leave, as rumors of Zidane’s resignation from Real Madrid are currently blowing. However, Madrid will continue to compete with or without him in the next season.
“They don’t just say it here, it has reached Germany that he announced his departure, that’s a lie,” Kroos told the Einfach mall Luppen podcast, which was reported by Marca
I really can’t say for sure, I don’t know how this will end. I can only say that it feels good to train Zidane.”
“Indeed there are a lot of doubts about what Real Madrid will be in next season, but I am sure Real Madrid will return to fight. I guarantee it,” said Kroos.
Apart from rumors about Zinedine Zidane’s resignation from Real Madrid, there have also been rumors about a potential replacement. Reportedly El Real is in talks with former AC Milan and Juventus coach, Massimilano Allegri.
Zidane Immediately Says ‘Adios’ to Real Madrid?
The 2020/2021 season will be the last time Zinedine Zidane coaches Real Madrid. This is because the French coach reportedly left his position at El Real.
Rumors of Zidane’s future have been heard for a long time since the beginning of this year. At that time, Madrid was in decline and missed the chance to win the title in the Copa del Rey and the Spanish Super Cup.
Even so, Madrid then rose to compete in the Spanish League and qualified for the Champions League semifinals, which made Zidane’s position safe again.
However, Madrid’s failure to win a single title this season required Zidane’s name to be rocked again. Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has reportedly given the code for Zinedine Zidane to leave Santiago Bernabeu this summer.
These rumors were further proven after transfer expert Fabrizio Romano announced on Thursday (27/5/2021) early morning WIB, that Zidane and Madrid had agreed to separate at the end of this season.
Zidane has already discussed this with Perez and his official announcement is said to be out in the next few hours or days. During his second period in charge of Madrid, Zidane went through 114 matches with 69 wins, 25 draws, and 20 defeats. There were a total of 207 goals scored and 104 conceded.
There are two titles obtained by Zidane, namely the 2019/2020 Spanish League and the 2019 Spanish Super Cup with a squad that is not as good as its first period.
As a replacement for Zinedine Zidane, Real Madrid has reportedly approached Antonio Conte, Massimiliano Allegri, and Joachim Loew.
