Virgil van Dijk Can Comeback in Liverpool Test Match

The good news was received by Virgil van Dijk and Liverpool. The Dutch defender was given the green light to play again after a long absence due to injury.
He suffered an ACL injury while playing in the Everton vs Liverpool match at Goodison Park, which ended in a 2-2 draw.

The injury made Van Dijk go up to the operating table and be absent until the end of the 2020/2021 season. The 30-year-old defender spent a total of 45 games for Liverpool to recover.

Conditions Virgil van Dijk started to improve after the end of the 2020/2021 season. After failing to defend the Netherlands at Euro 2020, the former Southampton player has returned to training with the Liverpool squad.

Van Dijk participated in Liverpool’s entourage which underwent a pre-season session in Austria. However, he was left out of the three friendly matches against Wacker Innsbruck, VfB Stuttgart, and Mainz 05.

Liverpool will undergo their fourth test match against the Bundesliga team, Hertha Berlin, Friday (30/7/2021) early morning WIB. In this match, Van Dijk is expected to get a chance to play by the Reds.

This was conveyed by Jurgen Klopp as Liverpool manager. He assessed that Van Dijk’s physical condition was quite okay and could play against Hertha Berlin.

He looks really good in training and maybe we can play him,” Klopp said, quoted from Liverpool’s official website.

“Even so, I still have to do some final talks. He looks ready and we’ll see,” he said of Virgil van Dijk.


Tottenham sign Bryan Gil, let Lamela go to Sevilla

Tottenham Hotspur has brought in new players for the 2021/2022 season. This time it was Bryan Gil’s turn to be recruited from Sevilla.
The certainty of Gil’s move was announced officially, Monday (26/7/2021) evening WIB. Gil is contracted with a duration of five years and it is not stated how much his salary will be.

To bring in Gil, Tottenham had to spend 21.6 million pounds, or around Rp. 432 billion. Gil is currently still defending Spain at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics

He would be formally introduced after returning from the Land of the Rising Sun. Bryan Gil is a Sevilla academy graduate who debuted in the first team in the 2018/2019 season.

In that season, Gil who was promoted from the Sevilla B team appeared 13 times with a score of one goal. Then in the 2019/2020 season, Gil also appeared seven times with a one-goal contribution and helped give the Europa League title.

Whereas in the second half of the season, Gil was loaned to Leganes. Throughout last season, Gil played at Eibar on loan and got a lot of flying hours, namely 29 matches with a score of four goals.

Bryan Gil became Tottenham’s second purchase after Nuno Espirito Santo was appointed manager. Previously, Tottenham Hotspur signed Pierluigi Gollini.

Gil’s move also involved Erik Lamela who was released to Sevilla. Lamela completed his eight-year career at White Hart Lane with a total of 257 appearances and 37 goals.

Lamela has a three-year contract with Sevilla. Tottenham also said goodbye to the former AS Roma player.
